Every awesome activity that adds value to your child's experience at Jefferson Hills Intermediate School is driven by an awesome committee of parent volunteers. Whatever time, talents, or ideas you have to contribute, there is a committee just waiting for you to join in!
If you would like to Volunteer to assist for one of the committees we will have a link open to sign up at the start of the next school year and the committee chair will be in touch with you as they begin planning for the event.
If you would like to volunteer to chair or co-chair a committee for the 2023-2024 school year you can sign up at this link. The board will review and select chairs from the sign up list and notify you via if you have been selected and if you are willing to accept the position. 5th Grade Activity Day
Plan activities and volunteer for 5th Grade Day celebrations.

Assist in confirming memberships and clearances of party parent helpers for the associated grade. Parents choosing this position are permitted first choice as homeroom parent for their child's class. One Chair and Co-chair will be selected for each grade.

Bake Sale
Bake sale committee will be assisting the chair in coordination with other parents in baking, pickup/delivery, tagging and selling of baked goods at the sales throughout the school year. Bake sales are during open house, art shows and possibly during other evening school events.

Book Fair
Help setup and teardown Scholastic book fair. Assist children with shopping. Book sales typically occur twice a year including the last week in February for Read Across America Week.

Community Outreach
Work with the Chair to develop and execute a project in which JHIS staff/teachers and students/families benefit the local community. Including Food Drive and other charitable projects. The committee will also be responsible for collecting and distributing items.

Earth Day & Environmental Group
Volunteers will work with the chair to help organize Earth Day handouts and/or activities for the students.

Family Bingo Night
Plan, decorate, assist with entertainment, food and all events including set-up and clean-up for Bingo Night.

Field Day
Volunteers will assist the chair and co-chair with the one-day event planned for late May/early June including outdoor activities for all of the students in the school. The group will plan, organize, set up and clean up the day of the event.

Fundraising
Assisting the chair with collecting, sorting, pulling and distributing fundraiser information packets and sale orders when they are shipped. Events such as flower sales, coin battles and spirit wear.

Holiday Shop
Help with set up, tear down and assisting students with shopping throughout the week of the Holiday Shop.

Nominating Committee
Volunteers will work with the chair to find candidates interested in filling open PTA Board positions for the upcoming school year before elections take place.

Read Across America Week
Assist the school librarian and chair in coordinating and planning a themed reading week for the school.

Reflections Program
As a member of this committee, you will assist the chairs in collecting and sorting art entries for judging and setting up display and preparation/clean up of award ceremony.

Party Parent Volunteers/Bingo Baskets
As a member of this committee, you will assist room parent coordinator in set-up/clean-up for parties and help work the auction table during the Family Bingo Night. Being a member of this committee does not guarantee you will be a room parent.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon
Help plan theme and food items, décor, setup and clean up for teacher and staff luncheon during Teacher Appreciate Week in May. Tentative lunch date, to be set.
